Goodreads Review - "WOLFPACK: How To Come Together, Unleash Our Power, and Change the Game"

WOLFPACK: How to Come Together, Unleash Our Power, and Change the GameWOLFPACK: How to Come Together, Unleash Our Power, and Change the Game by Abby Wambach
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this book! If you want to read a book about women empowerment in leadership, this is the one.

My favorite quote from the book is this one:

"There is a wolf inside of every woman. Her wolf is who she was made to be before the world told her who to be. Her wolf is her talent, her power, her dreams, her voice, her curiosity, her courage, her dignity, her choices--her truest identity."

Goodread Reviews - "Anxious People"

Anxious PeopleAnxious People by Fredrik Backman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fredrik Backman has yet to disappoint me! This book made me sad, happy, and hopeful all at the same time. I loved the humor (especially from Zara) and I laughed quite a bit while reading this novel.

This is the 4th book I have read from him ("A Man Called Ove", "Beartown", & "Us Against You"). I appreciate how he beautifully writes about emotions and the importance of human connection in his stories.

Goodreads Review - "Us Against You"

Us Against You (Beartown, #2)Us Against You by Fredrik Backman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is so worth the read and was the better one of the series, but you have to read "Beartown" first in order to really know the characters & the town. "Beartown" tells us what happened, and "Us Against You" tells us what the aftermath was. The quote at the front of the book really sums up the entire story: "Have you ever seen a town fall? Ours did. Have you ever seen a town rise? Ours did that, too." This book evoked so many emotions from me (especially, the last 150+ pages) that I'm still trying to recover from it.

This is the 3rd book I have read from Fredrik Backman ("A Man Called Ove" & "Beartown") and he has yet to disappoint me. He has this way of telling a story that draws you in to all of the characters and makes you feel the emotions, as if you are the actual character in this story, even if you have never been through any of the situations that take place in the book.

Goodreads Review - "Somebody's Daughter"

Somebody's DaughterSomebody's Daughter by Ashley C. Ford
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Never in my life have I ever been so connected to another human being after reading Ashley's memoir. It took me a while to read it since I had to take a lot of breaks to process what I read and bookmark the parts that were relatable. I had marked the book with so many sticky tabs but there were two quotes that I marked that weighed the heaviest on me:

"When you don’t grow up with a certain kind of affection, even if you know you’re worthy of it, it can be hard to accept in adulthood."

and...

"I felt like someone’s little girl. And I’d been waiting a long time to feel like somebody’s daughter."

Loved the book and appreciated her vulnerability in sharing her true story.
